Covid - 19 Protocol

At Milestones, the health of our clients, their family, and our employees is of the utmost importance to us. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, we want to make sure to take every precaution to prevent the potential spread of any infectious disease. Viral syndromes like coronavirus can be dangerous and life threatening, so we take this risk very seriously. Because behavioral therapy is a social service, we recognize that delay in therapy may be detrimental to some of our members/clients; therefore, you may wish to continue therapy despite the risks. Milestones is willing to continue therapy with safeguards in place to protect your family and our staff.

Milestones will take every precaution to protect you and your family by:

1. Washing hands before, during, and after sessions.
2. Wear protective equipment like gloves (when appropriate) and masks.
3. Clean and disinfect the area where we are working before and after sessions.
4. Keep sessions in designated areas of the home (e.g. having sessions only in the living room).
5. Practice social distancing during sessions (e.g. If possible, with our members/clients while conducting direct intervention and with family members by remaining at least 6 feet apart from them). This includes avoid giving high fives, shaking hands, giving knuckles.
6. Implement health screening prior to sessions.  
7. Cancel sessions if the therapist shows any signs of illness to prevent potential transmission.
8. Cancel sessions when any family members are experiencing symptoms.
9. Milestones will provide a safety kit that will remain at the member’s/client’s home for our staff to use. This kit will include such essential items as toilet paper, towels, disinfectant wipes, masks, gloves, feminine hygiene products, trash bag, first aid kit, and hand sanitizers.
